If you receive a financial aid award before your credit classes start:
- Any tuition you owe will be deducted from your award. Tuition will not be deducted earlier than 10 days before the first day of classes.
- If the total of your grants and scholarships is more than the amount of your tuition, you may receive an initial disbursement of up to $700 unless there are blocks on your student record (for example, you have an outstanding balance from a previous semester). You can use the initial disbursement to buy books and supplies for your classes. You will not receive this money any earlier than 10 days before the start of classes.
- You will receive any remaining funds eligible for release after the financial aid lock date and after beginning attendance has been certified by each of your instructors.

- To help you get your money as soon as possible, please order your DCCCD Money Card and select your preference for how you would like to receive your money. To order your card, please verify your contact information on eConnect (log in required).
- You can update your e-mail address through eConnect (login required). Visit your college's Admissions/Registrar's office to update your mailing address.
