  Eligibility for financial aid
  Question
Am I eligible for financial aid?
  Answer

To find out if you are eligible for financial aid within DCCCD you must do the following:

First, make sure you have completed an application for admission. You may complete an application online or at any Dallas County Community CollegeĀ Office of Admissions.

Next, complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You will need information from your 2007 federal income tax return and all W2s to complete the 2008-2009 FAFSA.

Be sure to include the Title IV School Code for any school that you may attend. If you plan to enroll only in Distance Learning courses, use Title IV code 008510.

If you need help completing the FAFSA, visit the Financial Aid Office at the college you plan to attend.

If you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you may still qualify for state or local aid even though you may not be eligible to apply for federal student aid. You may apply for state or local aid by completing the FAFSA Pre-application Worksheet and submitting it directly to your Financial Aid Office (do not send to the government processor).

Once you have completed this process, you may view any awards posted for you by accessing your FA Award Letter (login required) on the eConnect Student Menu.
